The Pokemon Trading Card Game is an immensely popular and addictive game for people of all ages. The standard deck that players can buy in retail stores includes a 60-card set, the 9 basic Energy cards, 10 random cards from across various sets to make up your starting hand, 2 coin flips (to see if you get tails or heads), 1 card sleeves sheet with 6 decks per sleeve where each deck has 4 identical cards which are rotated throughout the pack. There are also separate rulebooks which become more complicated as time goes on.
The Pokemon TCG Online is a digital card game that lets players trade and battle with their favorite cards from the franchise. There are no physical packs to sell, so there’s been a lot of development in creating virtual versions for sales online. Eternatus VMAX Standard deck for 2022 | Pokemon TCG Online is a new product that was released by Eternatus. The set includes some of the most powerful cards in the game, including “Eternatus VMAX” and “Pokemon TCG Online”. This is a great option for players who want to have a competitive deck.
In the 2020/21 format, Eternatus VMAX was one of the top decks. The 2020/21 Eternatus VMAX deck was capable of easy OHKOs because to Galarian Slowbro V’s ability to poison an opponent and Toxicroak’s ability to add additional damage counters to poisoned Pokemon.
The Rotation hasn’t had much of an impact on Eternatus. It has never employed Dedenne-GX, and none of the Rotated cards have hampered its ability to expand in its niche. The Eternatus VMAX deck for the 2022 Standard Format of Pokemon TCG Online, on the other hand, works in a very different way.
We have newer cards in the deck this time. Chilling Reign and Evolving Skies have introduced a slew of new Dark-type enemies to complement Eternatus. Rather of taking the poison path, we go for a more sophisticated card like VMAX Umbreon, which has a Boss’s Orders feature. We also have Galarian Moltres V, which has an outstanding capacity to accelerate energy. Only additional Dark-type Pokemon are required for Eternatus VMAX to construct a deck, since each one enhances its own ability.
In this article, I’ll show you how to build the finest Eternatus VMAX deck for the Pokemon TCG Online 2022 format. There are also a slew of new mechanics in play that the 2020/21 deck didn’t have, so I’ll go through each of them separately.

Because this is an all-Dark deck, the only cards that can beat it are Fighting decks. Urshifu VMAX decks are a thing right now, and if that Pokemon gets going (particularly with Single Strike Scroll of Scorn) and you have a horrible opening hand, Eternatus won’t be able to stop it. I wouldn’t change anything about this deck unless you want to adjust any of the Pokemon card counts.
VMAX with Eternatus V
Eternatus V and VMAX are unquestionably among the game’s top five most powerful Dark-type cards. With a conditional 120+120 attack and a 30-damage attack that attaches Energy, Eternatus V is very ordinary on its own (still good for the early game). We also offer the Crobat V, which fills your palm with joy every time you place it on your Bench. The motor of this deck will be Crobat V, as well as standard Supporters like Marnie and Professor’s Research.

This deck really shines in Eternatus VMAX.
Eternal Zone is an ability. You can have up to 8 Pokémon on your Bench if all of your Pokémon in play are Darkness types, but you can’t bring non-Darkness Pokémon into play. (If this Ability stops functioning, remove Pokémon from your Bench until you have a total of 5.)
Its attack provides +30 damage for the number of Dark-type Pokemon you have in play, and it may increase your Bench. With only two Energy attachments and Eternatus VMAX, you can deal 30 * 9 = 270 damage, a feat that even the newest cards couldn’t match.
Attacking with Eternatus is simpler in the 2022 edition of this deck. Galarian Slowbro V didn’t have much to do with Eternatus in the 2020/21 iteration, but this deck features true synergy amongst the Pokemon rather than the Type as a whole. Capture Energy is also used in this deck to assist bring in your Basic Pokemon quicker, which is always beneficial in a deck with a lot of additional Bench space.
Energy Switch and Galarian Moltres V
Galarian Moltres V facilitates the transfer of energy to your Pokemon. Moltres is an average attacker in and of itself, with a 3-Energy 190-damage attack that also does 30 damage to itself.
Direflame Wings is a special ability. You may attach a Darkness Energy card from your discard pile to this Pokémon once during your turn. Each round, you can only utilize one Direflame Wings ability.
You may then use the good old Energy Switch to transfer Energy from Moltres to any other Pokemon you desire after you’ve linked Energy to it. You may simply connect an additional Energy to your Eternatus VMAX if your opponent gets a fortunate Crushing Hammer coin flip (which they usually do). Furthermore, there is a third attacker in this deck, Umbreon VMAX, who has a 3 Energy attack and benefits even more from these additional Energies.
All hail the Eeveelutions’ ruler. Umbreon VMAX’s ability is effectively the impact of Boss’s Orders, a super-OP Supporter Card.
Dark Signal is a special ability. You may exchange 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon with their Active Pokémon when you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn.

Umbreon may let you to choose your opponent and use your Eternatus to destroy it. Is it possible for things to get any better? Yes, since, despite Umbreon’s 160-damage attack, this deck also possesses a tremendous damage-spreading mechanism. One disadvantage of the poison variety was that it needed Galarian Slowbro V and the evolution of Croagunk to Toxicroak in order to obtain the additional poison damage. This new deck includes Evolution Incense, which allows you to quickly evolve your V Pokemon.
To get rid of the poison effect, the opponent might simply transfer Pokemon. This deck avoids that method, instead relying on damage-spreading to increase Eternatus VMAX’s 270 damage and provide easy OHKOs.
Spreading damage with the Old Cemetery and the Galarian Zigzagoon
We’re using the classic combination of Galarian Zigazoon (which does 10 damage to any Pokemon you choose) and Scoop Up Net (which allows you to pick up and play Zigzagoon for an additional 10 damage).

You also have the Stadium card Old Cemetery to contend with, which is a pain to deal with. When your opponent connects an Energy to one of their non-Dark-type Pokemon, it takes 20 damage automatically. This adds up quickly, and having a Stadium card (and three copies of it) in your deck ensures that you can always knock off their Path to the Peak, another Stadium card that may possibly block all of your Abilities if not replaced.
Galarian Moltres V’s 190 damage is increased to possibly 220+ by these damage-spreading capabilities, making up for its middling basic damage stats.
Expanded Eternatus VMAX
In Pokemon TCG Online, the 2022 version of the Eternatus VMAX deck has been performing rather well. It doesn’t show up in tournaments very frequently since most players like to test out new decks, but when it does, it poses a severe danger to all of them. Urshifu is a difficult opponent, but Eternatus VMAX works well against any Inteleon-based Eeveelution deck. Eternatus is unquestionably here to stay for another year, and there are no Fighting decks in the pipeline to threaten it in future expansions.
Check out this insanely broken Eternatus VMAX and Darkrai-GX Expanded deck that you can harvest victories with on the Ladder if you play the Expanded format. This deck has fared well throughout the Rotation and is still competitive versus newer decks.
