However, did you know that there is an operating system that is similar to macOS but is a Linux distro with a macOS-like style and appearance? If you didn’t already know, now you do. Because pearOS is a Linux distribution with macOS-like functionality (Kinda). And in this article, I’ll show you how to install PearOS on your computer using a virtual machine.

It’s a new Linux distribution based on Ubuntu, but with a macOS-like appearance. On their official website, I can now see PearOS Catalina, PearOS ThiccSur, and ultimately PearOS Monterey. I’m going to utilize VirtualBox for this tutorial, and then I’ll install PearOS Monterey inside of it.
Step 1: I’ll use open-source virtualization software since PearOS Monterey is an open-source operating system. It’s called VirtualBox, so the first step is to acquire both of them, which you can do by clicking on the links below.
Step #2: After you’ve downloaded the necessary software, you’ll need to install it on your computer. Then you’ll need to build a separate virtual machine dedicated to PearOS; you may call it Ubuntu if you like. Alternatively, you may follow the procedures outlined below.
- Open VirtualBox and go to the webpage to the new button.
- When the virtual machine wizard in VirtualBox is launched, choose expert mode.
Expert Mode should be enabled.
Step #2: Give the virtual machine a name and ensure that the operating system type is Linux with the other 64-bit Linux operating system. You may use the screenshot below as a guide.

Step #3: You must specify how much storage you need for PearOS Monterey. For testing reasons, I’ll use 100 GB of storage, although 20 GB will enough.

Step #4. We have to attach the PearOS Monterey to the Virtual machine from the settings. Go to the settings> Storage, and add the ISO Image to VM.
To the VM, add the PearOS Monterey ISO Image.
Step #5: At this point, we’ll begin installing PearOS Monterey on a Windows computer using VirtualBox. So, on the homepage, click the start button.
